Noel

Shoo!  It’s a secret! This is for my granddaughter who happens to have the middle name of Noel. I had seen this freebie around and kept thinking of her as her birthday is during this season.  I have altered the thread choices just a bit to reflect how precious she is (more precious than gold). Definitely a gift to her parents, grandparents, and indeed the whole family.  It comes from Madame Chantilly and she offers it as a freebie.

Winter Sampler

For a long time I’ve loved how the Leisure Arts magazine pattern from February 1993 was used by Carol, the creator of “Stitching Dreams” and The World’s Largest Collection of  Smalls TOO” Since it was an old magazine I just started searching for it and after a couple of searches I found the pattern itself!  Here is the link to one of Carols examples (scroll down to see it).  You can go here to see her other one.

Here is how I worked mine up.  Like her I stitched it on 28 count evenweave, 1 over 1, so it’s very small, only 1 2/2 inch tall by 3 inches long. I made the sleigh out of balsa wood.

What a delight to find Leisure Arts “Winter Sampler“.  The whole pattern is wonderful and other parts could be used in the same way that Carol demonstrates.

Have a great weekend.

Christmas Ornament from Nordic Needle

I just finished this ornament from Stoney Creek called Snow Happens, Book 381.  This is one of four.  I stitched it on 28 count evenweave.  It is approximately 3 inches by 3 inches.

I came across this ornament pattern while looking around. There are so many different ways you could stitch this lovely chart by Liz Almond and she gave it to Nordic Needle (scroll down a little) to share.
